Paying with USDT when you care about privacy
Stablecoins are the easiest way to pay for Claude here, and they are also the most traceable thing you can send us. Both of those are true at once, and the second one is worth understanding before you pick one.
A stablecoin transfer is a permanent public record
Tether and Circle issue on open ledgers. Anyone can look up the address you sent from, see its full history, and see that it paid an address belonging to this order. Chain analysis firms sell exactly that lookup as a product. None of that is a criticism of stablecoins, it is simply what a public ledger is, and it does not change because the amount is small.
What we hold on our side is thin by design. This domain records no IP address, no browser string and no referring page against an order, and the web server writes 0.0.0.0 in place of your address. The ledger, though, is not ours to trim.
Issuers can freeze, and have
USDT and USDC are centrally issued. Both issuers have frozen balances at the request of law enforcement, which is not something that can happen to a coin nobody controls. If you are paying us a few tens of dollars for a subscription this is close to irrelevant, but it is a real difference between a stablecoin and Bitcoin or Monero, and you should know it rather than discover it.
If the ledger trail is the thing you mind
Monero opens the coin list on this site rather than sitting at the bottom of it. Amounts and addresses are not visible on its chain, so there is no public record tying your wallet to this order. It costs a little more in swap spread and confirms more slowly. That is the trade, stated plainly.
If you have decided a stablecoin is fine
Then it is genuinely the simplest option. The dollar amount you send is the dollar amount of the plan, so nothing drifts while the transaction confirms. Send on Tron unless you have a reason not to: it settles in seconds for a fraction of a cent, where the Ethereum version can cost more in gas than the subscription on a busy day. The network is named beside the address on the deposit screen, and an address issued for one chain cannot receive funds sent on another.
USDC behaves identically to USDT in every respect above, including the freeze powers. Use whichever you already hold.
